(3,5km - 45 minutes walk)
A beautiful walkway with panoramic views of the Solidor harbour, the Rance estuary, Dinard and the old walled town.
A stone's throw from the studio, a charming park which has retained its natural and wild aspect. It provides access to one of the most beautiful beaches in Saint-Malo where the sea takes on beautiful emerald-colored reflections.
The elegant seaside resort is only 10 minutes away by sea taxi from the Solidor slipway. Stunning coastal walkways:
Promenade du Clair-de-Lune: With its gardens, natural greenery and views of the bay, the exceptionally long Promenade du Clair de Lune offers one of the finest coastal walks for visitors to Dinard. Parts of the promenade are set directly on the cliff rocks (the promenade itself is completely secure).
Pointe du Moulinet: Pointe du Moulinet is a rocky break located east of the most famous beach of Dinard, the Plage de l'Ecluse. It offers an exceptional panorama on the mouth of the Rance and the city of Saint-Malo. Connoisseurs claim that this is one of the most beautiful views of the corsair city. It houses sumptuous villas called Seaside Castles.
Plage de l'Ecluse: There are several beaches to choose from in the area, but if you are looking for a place within Dinard city limits this is a perfect option. In the summer season this sandy beach is a popular meeting spot and visitors can join a gym class or attend any other of the activities held here.
Pointe de la Malouine: La Pointe de la Malouine is located on a piece of headland next to the Plage de Saint Enogat, to the north of the city. It is an ideal spot for walking, admiring the wildlife and taking in the atmosphere of Dinard. Locals often go out on jogs around here. The beautiful "Les Roches Brunes" villa, built in neoclassical style between 1893 and 1896, is open to the public via guided tours. It houses different exhibitions and from its location on the edge of a cliff, it offers breathtaking views of the bay from its peaceful terrace.
For moderate walkers, get back to the Tal Ar Mor studio by the GR®34 trail (11 km -3h30).
Take the coastal road and drive to Cancal for a nice walk (see below) and/or oyster tasting with a view on the Mont Saint-Michel. Most of the route hugs the coastline, passing beautiful coves and sandy beaches. Ideal for taking a break or having a dip in the sea.
Bracing walks, soaring cliffs, attractive beaches, stunning views over the Emerald Coast and the Channel Islands, a seabird reserve, an historic lighthouse and a fortified castle straight out of a story book – the wild and windswept area around the Cap Fréhel peninsula has got plenty to interest.
East of Cap Fréhel, standing 196ft (60m) on a rock above the sea, is the imposing edifice of Fort La Latte. Built in the 14th century, the castle was fortified in the 17th century. Crossing the drawbridge and exploring the crenellations, turrets and dungeons is a must. Vikings, the 1957 epic movie with Kirk Douglas, was filmed in this fairytale castle.
